Apple, Almond and Maple Crumble Loaf

Liam's crumble-topped apple loaf cake was lightly spiced with nutmeg and cinnamon. It was topped with a maple syrup glaze and flaked almonds.

The cake used both Bramley and Granny Smith apples.

During the preparation, Paul Hollywood asked Liam "Why did you use a loaf tin instead of a more shallow cake tin? The loaf tin makes baking more difficult."

Judging

Prue Leith: "It's a bit stodgy."

Paul Hollywood: "It's a bit boring."
