Kat and Corwin teamed together on this challenge and were both eliminated. The judges comments were as follows:

Corwin: "We both said we wanted to do a bacalao dish. We love salt cod. We wanted to let that represent both of us."

Judge: "Were you breading them to order?"

Corwin and Kat: "We breaded them the day itself. We made our base and let that marinate overnight, and we just breaded the morning off."

Judges: "Flavors were good. And it's fried nicely. But the inside was really mushy."

Corwin and Kat: "We were concerned also about overworking it, having a filling that ran the risk of being overly dense."

Judge: "Yeah, sure, I understand that, but that binder was just really wet."

Judge: "Did you do anything to the fish and the shrimp before you put it in there?"

Corwin and Kat: "We seasoned the mix with quite a bit of salt."

Judge: "That was before you formed the cake? It makes sense. You know, salt leaches liquid, right? It's like, that's what it does. It pulls the moisture out."
