Shortcrust pastry with orange zest, Granny Smith apples with ginger filling, pecan and walnut crust. Baker states he loathes fruit pies and won't taste them. Used orange zest for added flavor in pastry.
Paul Hollywood: "Never got ginger in that mouthful. The fruit's cooked perfectly, but as an apple pie you need to try your food. If you don't try your food, you do not know what that's going to taste like."
Mary Berry: "The pastry is not cooked particularly in the middle."
