Apple Tree Macarons

Apple tree shaped macarons filled with apple butter and winter spice Swiss meringue buttercream, Scott's playful nod to a childhood of cheerfully soggy bottomed apple pies made by his mom.
Scott: "We grew up eating soggy bottom apple pies. It wasn't until I started watching this show that I realized, mom, you've been doing it all wrong."
Scott: "I am poking out air bubbles that the whole banging thing reveals. The hope is that if it brings them to the surface and we poke them out, I imagine it aids in keeping these things from cracking."
Scott: "Gotta get these off. I gotta get them filled. I gotta get them standing."
Paul: "I like the look of them. I like the fact that you've got feet. They're a bit irregular in size. But I quite like the decoration."
Prue: "I think the spice slightly overwhelms the apple. I mean, it's very delicious. I'm not complaining about it, but I think I'd have put it slightly less."
