Millie is the muse for a batch of espresso, chocolate and salted caramel macarons piped to look like Ruiqi's long-haired calico cat. Ruiqi entered cookie week as the baker to beat after collecting two Hollywood handshakes the week prior. Ruiqi: "So I'm doing macarons based on my cat, Millie. She's a long haired calico. She's the most beautiful cat in the world. I'm obsessed with her."
Ruiqi: "I've got my template down here. I just hand drew these, actually traced them all and I've got my little cats. And then for the backs, I'll just flip them over."
Ruiqi: "I grew up always wanting a cat, but I was never allowed to have one because my sister is really allergic. And so as soon as I got my own apartment, I immediately got a cat." Ruiqi: "They're gonna go in for about 16 to 18 minutes total. But I set an alarm for eight minutes so I can rotate them and hopefully they'll cook evenly."
Ruiqi: "These are my little kittens. They're the shape of my cat, Millie. And I hear Paul's a cat person too, so hopefully these buy me a few points with him."
Ruiqi: "I am just piping on ears right now. And then I'll do eyes and whiskers and a little nose."
Ruiqi: "It's not the neatest I've ever done it."
Prue: "They're all very neatly piped. You're obviously very good at decoration."
Paul: "And there is a foot."
Prue: "They just look so perfect."
Paul: "I found a fault. You haven't baked them long enough. They're far too soft."
Prue: "And because the macaron isn't properly baked, the filling seems too stiff for the macaron."
Paul: "But your flavors are fantastic. The espresso chocolate works. Caramel works beautifully well with it. Just five minutes away."
