Caramel Apple Bars

RJ: "I'm starting with a simple scottish style shortbread. It's a great vehicle for the other flavors I have coming."
Voice-over: "Channeling his childhood in northern California, RJ's caramel apple cookie bars will get that taste of home with an apple whiskey ganache."
Paul Hollywood: "They're not totally the same size, are they?"
Prue Leith: "The piping has sort of saved it a little bit, but the tempering hasn't gone too well because you lost a little bit of the shine. The crack on the chocolate, it's pretty good."
Paul Hollywood: "I really enjoyed that. I really enjoyed the flavor."
Prue Leith: "I don't taste the apple. It's got very good, strong whisky flavor."
PaulHollywood: "If that was half the biscuit and half the caramel, I'd probably enjoy it more."
