Chigs made his second-ever carrot cake featuring 900g of carrots in the batter for strong carrot flavor, filled with star anise-infused pineapple jam, and decorated with tiny handmade marzipan carrots. This was his first attempt at making decorative marzipan carrots after seeing a YouTube tutorial.
Paul Hollywood: "You've had a lot of carrot and the carrot releases water once it's in the batter." "Solid." Prue Leith: "I think the pineapple works well. That little bit of sweetness comes through. You expect a little bit of stodge with a carrot cake, but this is a little bit rubbery."
