Cinnamon Orange Babka Loaf

Karis: "I made a chocolate babka earlier in the summer that kind of exploded because I overproved. So I learned that lesson very early on. None of that today. I'm making an orange cinnamon babka today. And so I've tried to incorporate orange through every aspect of it. There's zest in the filling and a little bit of fresh orange juice in the actual loaf itself."
Voice Over: "Karis is playing it safe with her babka, using her favorite flavors of cinnamon and orange brushed with an orange syrup and decorated with orange peel."
Karis: "I love citrus. I think there's citrus in almost all of my bakes"
Paul Hollywood: "Tell us all about your pancake babka."
Karis: "She had some issues."
Prue Leith: "So was it a proving issue or something else?"
Karis: "There was a proving issue. You know, I've been racking my brain the whole way through. I don't know if I accidentally killed the yeast."
Paul Hollywood: "Did you add any flavorings to the dough?"
Karis: "I did. I added some of the fresh orange juice. So maybe that could have been the problem?"
Paul Hollywood: "That's what it is. Yeah, the acid in there slows the whole thing up."
Paul Hollywood (tasting): "Wow, that's dense. Yeah, it's not good for me."
Prue Leith: "I agree it's dense and heavy, but I love the flavor."
Prue Leith: "I think you've gone overboard with the orange. You just introduced the orange in the wrong arena. If you'd kept it with zest to create the orange, then that would have been much better."
