Clara: "So the raspberry puree has gone under, on the sides, everywhere."
Clara: "I can accept your beans on toast, but this, really..."
Clara: "Mine looks like a giant lasagna mess."
[Technical challenge set by Nigella, judged blind. Brief: enhance a classic bread and butter pudding with ingredients from the gingham pantry, without overwhelming it. Judges want a crisp golden top, smooth custard with a wobble, bread soaked rather than dry, and complementary additions.]
Paul: "So this one is almond and raspberry. It's still a bit dry. I like the flavor, but it's a bit overwhelming. With the raspberry puree, it's like a summer pudding."
