Who made this dish?
Signature challenge: eight identical handheld savory pies. Mo made triangle shaped rough puff pasties filled with chicken breast, sweetcorn and cheese in a creamy sauce, based on his mum's samosa filling. He had never made the filling before. Mo: "You can't go wrong with buttery pastry." Mo: "I don't know what it's called, but it's like a flaky vibe." Mo: "The sauce thickened up, and then I just added the chicken and sweetcorn in. I mean, it looks a bit disgusting, I'm not gonna lie. But I've never actually made the filling before." Mo: "It's from one of my mum's samosa filling things." Mo: "I feel like I like not knowing what I'm doing. Personally, I don't believe in recipe books." Mo: "I'm just eyeballing it." Mo: "Is it soggy? I don't know. Does that look cooked to you?" Mo (presenting): "So it's like a rough puff pastry with a creamy chicken filling." Mo (after judging): "Savory isn't my thing. I'm more of a sweet guy. That's not my territory."
Paul: "Nice color. Okay." Nigella: "I haven't got a great deal of filling in mine." Nigella: "What's so wonderful about pastry is that you have just the finest layer that's a bit stodgy, and for me you've got too much of it, and it has gone a bit gungy. I don't know whether it needs longer baking or whether it's to do with that particular sauce." Paul: "It has gone a bit gloopy, hasn't it? It just makes it a bit heavy."
