Dave the Snake Sweet Potato Pie

As seen on TV
Which Show?
Who made this dish?
Showstopper challenge: one large, beautifully decorated free-form pie, sweet or savory, shaped and baked without tins. Time allowed: 3 hours 30 minutes.
Connie made a snake-shaped free-form hot water crust pie, named Dave after a lodger's pet snake she used to babysit, filled with a vegetarian sweet potato curry and laid on a bed of mashed potato grass.
Connie: "I'm making a hot water pastry which will hopefully hold the structure and everything will stay encased in there."
Connie: "I am making a sweet potato curry."
Connie: "I am doing a snake, which is called Dave. We used to have a lodger. He would ask us to babysit the snake."
Connie: "Got to get that nice and thick so that it's not too runny."
Connie: "Can't get rid of the top oldies yet. Let's hope the snake comes out."
Connie (on shaping): "Oh, not long. It's a snake. So it's just a head and the tail."
Connie: "The snake. It's really nice and standing proud."
Connie (presenting): "It's a sweet potato curry."
Nigella: "Snake Dave's got a great expression on his face."
Paul: "Looks more like a salamander."
Paul: "The spice levels in your curry, delicious. However, the pastry is too thick. I know it's wet, I know it's soaked in, but it's really quite substantial down at the bottom."
Nigella: "The taste is lovely, but it's obviously quite mushy and wet. Maybe it needs something like chickpeas to just give it a bit more bulk. But I do like this bit here where the curry slightly begins to soften that crisp top pastry. That's the perfect bite."
