Day of the Dead Celebration Cake
A four layer carrot and courgette cake filled with orange mascarpone cream and coated in multi colored buttercream in homage to the Mexican Day of the Dead. Illiyin: "I just love the fact that I could say dia de los muertos over and over again." Illiyin: "Generally, autumn colors are like your oranges, some yellow. But the Day of the Dead festival is really bright. It's really flamboyant, so I'm trying to go bold in my colors." The cake features vibrant, bold colors reflecting the celebratory nature of the festival.
Prue Leith: "I think that's astonishing. The vibrancy of those colors is fantastic." Paul Hollywood: "The decoration is exquisite. It's excellent. Really is. Wow." Prue Leith: "I'd say that absolutely the right level of spice. Not too strong. Delicious." Paul Hollywood: "And the carrot and courgette are moist enough still. I know you drained a lot of it off. It's really pleasant in the mouth. I think you've done a great job with that cake. Well done."
