Yellow team breakfast for the Cracker Barrel quickfire, presented in front of guest judges Madison Lacroix and Craig Conover. Brandon claimed breakfast immediately and went straight to his children’s favourite meal: little eggs Benedict over crispy hash browns, finished with a quick blender hollandaise spiked with hot sauce.
{Brandon}: "This is my kid’s favorite meal. I call it rushed hash browns and shortcut hollandaise."
On the technique he leaned on the blender’s heat-and-friction method to emulsify the sauce in roughly five minutes.
{Brandon}: "Hollandaise is kind of a fancy, brunchy thing. Little hot sauce. But you can make hollandaise in less than five minutes."
Yellow team won the $12,000 prize.
{Judge}: "This looks fantastic."
{Judge}: "I’m very impressed."
{Judge}: "Really well cooked." {Judge}: "And then on the yellow team, we had Brandon. I did appreciate not overly greasy, crispy hash browns."
{Judge}: "I absolutely loved that. I think my son would just devour."
