Rochelle Daniel: "I did not want fried chicken. That was the last thing I wanted. I like to keep my figure. I refuse to be one of the first four that goes home. I have to bring it." 


Rochelle Daniel (during cook): "[Mixed with] a little bit of crème fraîche, a little bit of escalivada." 


Rochelle Daniel (plating): "Compared to Malyna's, I feel like mine's very refined. My heart is wanting to just jump out of my chest." To judges: "So I made a fried chicken thigh cooked in buttermilk with pickles." On sauce: "So I did a mustard aioli with Calabrian chilies." 


Rochelle Daniel (post-elimination): "There's a lot of emotions. Doesn't feel good to be knocked out. The chefs are so talented. It really brings out a lot of ambition in you when you think about your food differently and you want to be great."

Michael Cimarusti: "The chicken's cooked beautifully. It's really juicy. It's very moist. There's like an orange kind of sauce over the top." 


Padma Lakshmi: "I wish I had more of it [the sauce]." 


Wiley Dufresne: "I would have loved to have had more of that sauce, maybe even a ramekin of it to dip in. Did feel a little bit more schnitzel-leaning, so it didn't feel quite as fried-chickeny, but it was delicious." 


Verdict: Michael Cimarusti voted Rochelle the better dish. Wiley Dufresne voted Malyna the better dish. Padma Lakshmi cast the deciding vote for Malyna Si. Rochelle Daniel was eliminated.
