Frog Leg Tomato Buna with Potato Bhorta Puree and Chilli Shallot Salad Gordon Ramsay: "Shompa. Tell me about the dish. What are you doing?" Shompa: "So I am going to be doing a French and Bangladeshi fusion dish. I am making frog leg tomato buna curry with a potato aloo bhorta puree. I saw frog legs and I thought that is the most stereotypical French dish I could ever think of. And I have never made frog legs before this." Gordon Ramsay: "You have never cooked with frog legs. They overcook and they go very dry, so be careful. Olive oil, saute, saute. Salt, pepper in there. Take them out into the buna." Tiffany Derry: "All right. Frog legs, huh?" Shompa: "Yes. I did a tomato frog leg buna." Tiffany Derry: "Should it be, like, fragrant and have some punch?" Shompa: "Yes." Shompa: "Oh, not again. I just absolutely hate this feeling. This challenge was one of the hardest challenges that I have done. I know everybody was way more versed in, like, the French cuisine than I was, so I am just not feeling that confident right now." Shompa: "Today I made a frog leg tomato buna with a potato bhorta puree and a side salad that included chili and shallot vinaigrette."
Tiffany Derry: "I will be honest, I do not love the presentation here. They feel very separated. Frog legs are definitely broken down. Sauce does not look as rich as I would expect, but let us see how it is cooked." Gordon Ramsay: "Sadly for me, the dish is underwhelming. When you mentioned the words buna, I got excited, but there is no spice in there at all." Tiffany Derry: "Yeah. The potatoes itself has a little bit of richness, but again, even that feels underwhelming." Joe Bastianich: "Shompa, this dish went wrong with the decision of choosing frog legs, which you have never cooked before. And from that point on, it was just a cascade downward because you could not save it." Gordon Ramsay (in deliberation): "Shompa missed the point completely." Tiffany Derry (in deliberation): "Even if the frog legs were not cooked properly, had the sauce been delicious, had the potatoes been delicious, at least something on the plate would have been great." Result: Bottom dish for team Asia Pacific. Eliminated.
