Which Show?
Who made this dish?
Jennifer: "I am working on an Indian version of a pot liquor to go with my hoe cake, which is a yeasted cake. I'm 40, and I'm still trying to figure out what my cuisine is. There's definitely Southern in there, but Justin is half Indian, and Justin and I really try to use each other's experiences to create these interesting flavors. My inspiration is Justin." Jennifer: "I have a triple creme Fromage d'Affinois. It's gonna play as my butter." Jennifer (presentation): "I did a yeasted corn cake with pot liquor, some butter beans, and triple cream and hot honey on top." Jennifer: "I also think I burnt my tongue too, so it probably didn't help."
Bottom three. Safe. {Tom}: "The one that I didn't care for the most was the hoecake. Pot liquor flavors are dry." {Tom}: "I like the idea of this dish. The cake is nicely made, and the beans are beautifully cooked. It's just that the pot liquor's too salty." {Greg}: "It's for sure a side dish." {Tom}: "I did not enjoy the flavor or the texture. And then that with the salty broth, none of that dish worked together." {Tom}: "They tasted so much, they were blind to it."
