Jon's Vegan Welsh Rarebit Twists
Jon Richardson made entirely plant-based vegan Welsh rarebit cheese twists from rough puff pastry, shaped into intricate spirals. Committed to his vegan principles throughout, Jon had jokingly pre-warned Paul Hollywood about expecting a handshake.

{Jon}: "I was the third vegan I think seven years ago on the planet and now there's loads of us. So you have to be nice to us now because we're an army."
The visual presentation was not strong, with raw dough inside and butter lost in the oven, though the seasoning was specifically praised.
{Paul}: "It just doesn't look very attractive."
{Paul}: "I like the color. There is some lamination there. You've got some layers there... It's quite dry. You may have lost a lot of butter when you were baking it."
{Cherish}: "I think the seasoning is spot on, but the pastry is raw."
{Cherish}: "Overall, I think very good effort. It's not perfect, but it might taste good."
