Lamb Shepherd's Pie with Potato Soufflé and Corn Nuts
Rhoda during prep: 'I'm going to try and do a soufflé Colorado lamb... I'm going to incorporate some eggs in my potato topping so it puffs. It is a little ambitious, but I love that it's up for interpretation.'
She also noted: 'I'm making shepherd's pie.' At presentation: 'I made a potato soufflé. You have lamb shepherd's pie with crushed up corn nuts.' Kristen noted it was a first-time lamb experience for the kids; a kid asked 'What's lamb?' Kristen replied: 'It's what you're eating.'
Kid judge Anna Kate: 'I hate to say it, but the mashed potatoes and lamb [was least favourite].' Fortune: 'Rhoda, as soon as you said lamb, I was like, you lost these three.' Kristen: 'The mashed potatoes felt a little bit waterlogged, and weren't able to actually really enjoy the soufflé portion of the potato.' Kid observation: 'I see the crispness. Kind of. It reminds me of charcoal. Well, yeah, I wonder if that was an excuse for it being burnt.'
