Orange and Pistachio Cake

Chris: "I'm using a recipe my grandmother handed down from Sicily. She cooked with a lot of the local flavors, pistachio oranges, you know, back in Italy in 1929. And so this is something she used to make when she used to come to visit us in America."

When he's not whipping up delightful bakes, Chris dedicates his time to gardening and volunteering with the Channel Islands Marine and Wildlife Rescue.

Voice Over: "Inspired by his backyard oranges and Sicilian heritage, Chris is baking an orange pistachio loaf cake topped with cream cheese frosting and candied orange slices."

Prue Leith: "I have to tell you, I love candied oranges. The great problem, I think, is to get them soft enough to be chewy and nice."

Prue Leith: "Well, I'm very pleased to see the orange slices."

Chris: "I was more worried about the orange slices than the cake for prayer. I wanted to do her proud."

Prue Leith: "Perfect. I like them like that. Just on the point of taking your teeth out"

Prue Leith: "Meanwhile, the cake, I think it's delicious."

Paul Hollywood: "Yeah, really good. Flavor wise, looks wise, think you're spot on. That's a great cake."

Prue Leith: "Tastes lovely."
