Pickled Shrimp Milk Bread Bun with Turmeric Dough and Tomato Powder Shrimp 


{Jennifer}: "I made a pickled shrimp milk bread bun. I used turmeric in my milk bread bun and tomato powder in my pickled shrimp. I made it this morning but I wish I had just made it last night." During prep: "I'm not really sure what I'm doing, but I love working with turmeric and I know it dyes really well. Getting ready to buzz up my shrimp for my bun. The one thing I probably need to get to is make my bread." Jennifer missed the Quickfire challenge due to a shoulder injury requiring urgent care. She competed the Elimination in a sling: "I got food on a plate, so that's really all I could ask for."

Judges: "I like the shrimp a lot. I do think that the bun fell a little short. It's too dense. Just sort of trapping it in there rather than going with it." Gail: "I wouldn't look at this and think there were two colors incorporated. There's tomato powder in the shrimp, but I don't think of tomato as, like, a transformation." Amira (guest judge): "I was expecting a little more color, creativity. I wanted blue. I wanted red. I wanted my mouth to turn color."
