Which Show?
Who made this dish?
Russell Jackson: "I make the best damn clam chowder, and it's oh, so good. Moving with intent."
Russell Jackson: "I want to riff on a classic red clam chowder. A very famous celebrity chef taught me this sort of base. And we'll add some clams. It'll be soft, sweet, have a nice edge to it without being too crazy."
Russell Jackson (to himself): "I am my worst critic, but today I cooked a banger, man. I cooked an absolute banger."
Russell Jackson: "I made a red clam chowder. The soup base is actually a tomato fennel base. I use clams from the steam, and then I use leftover clam juice from the steaming as well."
Padma Lakshmi: "Russell, is this a chunk of lobster?"
Russell Jackson: "There's a little chunk of lobster in there as well." Russell Jackson (post-elimination): "They didn't get it. I could have upped the volume on the clam, but I wanted it to be balanced. I was proud of me. Like, they are wrong. They are so wrong."
Padma Lakshmi: "I love your red chowder. Elegant, pristine, colorful. But if I didn't know this was supposed to be clam chowder, I wouldn't have sussed that out for myself."
Michael Cimarusti: "There's a lot going on. Removing a couple of items would have helped you."
Result: Both judges voted Chris Morgan's dish as better. Padma added: "The feeling is unanimous." Russell Jackson was eliminated.
