Jack's quarter-final main: roasted scallops with a black pudding crumb, miso mash and a cider beurre blanc - a fusion of British, Asian and French influences. The mash came out lumpy and the beurre blanc was paler than he wanted.
Guest judge: "Feels like there are two Jacks - the Jack that made that starter was delicate, beautiful, layered. This main is really confusing."
Guest judge: "The mash, there's lots of raw lumps of potato in there."
Guest judge: "It's almost watery in flavor... the scallops are okay. My favorite is the black pudding crumb - it adds crunch and texture."
Judge: "This isn't a disaster. There's room for improvement."
