Shepherd's Pie with Sweet Potato Topping
Shepherd's Pie with Sweet Potato Topping

A reimagined shepherd's pie using lamb mince with bean paste, fish sauce, celery root and carrots, topped with scalloped sweet potatoes instead of traditional mashed potatoes

Cait: "We are making a rendition of a shepherd's pie... We're reinventing the wheel because we didn't get exactly all the ingredients that we wanted."

Tonna: "This is kind of a take on a shepherd's pie with a lamb mince and topped with a scalloped sweet potato. We used black bean paste, fish sauce, and celery root and carrots."

Tiffany Derry: "Wow. Oh. Shepherd's pie is supposed to be comforting, and this is anything but. It's a very strange taste for me. It resembles the inside of a dumpling. But the insult for me is potatoes are raw. You can't eat an undercooked potato. So it's definitely not a shepherd's pie. It's a million miles away. What a shame."

Joe Bastianich: "Though it is not refined at all. What I have on the plate is not unflavorful. Okay... The intensity and the flavor of the lamb is actually quite good. And had you put, like, white mashed potato on it, this would be a very good dish... 50 minutes. I don't expect undercooked sweet potatoes. I'm sorry. That's the problem. It's weird. Tastes very strange."

Gordon Ramsay: "You said fish sauce in the minced lamb and black bean paste. Wow. Lord. Very weird... I hope my mum's not watching. Wow."
