Toad in the Hole Pasty
Toad in the Hole Pasty

Lottie's creative take on toad in the hole featuring mashed potato, onion, sage and fennel gravy with Lincolnshire sausage in puff pastry.

Paul: 'Oh, Lottie, I'm not totally convinced by this. I think it could be really stodgy or soggy mash and gravy.' Prue: 'I think this sounds delicious. Original.' Paul (after tasting): 'Was a bit worried it would be stodgy but in fact, it's certainly not. If anything, it's a bit dry. There's a nice kick of flavor there. But unfortunately, you've got rice sitting on a pastry, which is very good, but essentially quite dry.' [Note: Paul's comment seems confused between contestants] Prue: 'Tastes amazing. The mash works really well. Do you remember I said it won't work. I was wrong. It is very good. It doesn't look good, but the textures, the flavors are all spot on. Tastes amazing. Can you book me one for lunch?'
