Treacle Tart Roulade

{Briony}: "My husband's favorite childhood desserts was treacle tart. So I basically is the filling that you would have in a treacle tart but in a roulade." {Briony}: "This is the treacle tart filling. It's just dried breadcrumbs in golden syrup." Briony's meringue roulade features a pecan meringue wrapped around a traditional British treacle tart filling made from golden syrup and dried breadcrumbs. The combination brings together classic British flavors in an innovative dessert format.
Paul: "What you've got is cylindrical, but you've just lost that spiral. Maybe less meringue." Briony: "Okay." Paul: "What's all that?" Briony: "That's the golden syrup." Paul: "It's a little bit of seepage. Certainly tastes like treacle tart." Paul: "You do get the pecan. It sits on your tongue and then just melts away. You've ticked every box on your flavors, but the meringue's slightly too thick, and you lost the spiral."
