Wildflower Macarons

Wildflower shaped macarons filled with pistachio buttercream and raspberry jam, inspired by the prairie wildflowers Sue grew to love after moving to Oklahoma three decades ago.
Sue is one of two bakers eliminated this week, alongside Lisa, after the judges declared them tied in the bottom spot.
Sue: "When I moved to Oklahoma over 30 years ago, I was bound determined to find something I really liked because I missed the mountains so much. And the wildflowers were gorgeous."
Sue: "I have been lately." (on making macarons recently)
Sue: "I hadn't thought about that." (after Prue noted pistachio and raspberry would taste strange while eating something purple)
Sue: "The raspberry filling is cooling. I have the pistachio buttercream. Can you hear my quilting room? It's calling."
Sue: "I think the feet are good. Look, they have feet."
Sue: "I've never had much of a problem with them, but a lot of people were talking about cracks, which made me worry about cracks. I won't ever say never."
Sue: "Well, it went as good as can be expected. Judging is always going to be nervous for me. I'm a real people pleaser, and I want to do, do until I'm happy."
Prue: "They look really lovely."
Paul: "You've got a little bit of a foot."
Prue: "It's so clever because it's a very simple design, but you've done it so beautifully."
Paul: "The macaron needed longer. Another five, ten minutes. It's just too soft. But the pistachio and the raspberry come through really nicely."
Prue: "You've got a decent amount of filling, and it's not too sweet, so it counteracts the macaron, which is inevitably sweet. I think you've done a really good job."
Paul: "Yeah. Good job."
