Karen chose the flavour combination of rosewater and cardamom. Both  judges showed skepticism that the pairing could be executed well, although Prue Leith was heard to say that she would LOVE the combination if it was well-balanced, but that rosewater could easily dominate.


Sadly, in the end, Karen was too restrained with both flavours and the dish didn't taste of either.


If you're going to use rosewater in cooking, be aware that it can be purchased in a powder form, which avoids the risk of diluting a batter or dough. We have tried it out and found it to be excellent. This is a link to purchase the powder form.
