Optimal Dough Portioning for Monkey Bread

Creating monkey bread that "falls apart nicely as it should" requires proper portion sizing and pan capacity understanding. For 12-inch bundt pan, use maximum 36 pieces to ensure even rising and cooking. Too many pieces create overcrowding, preventing proper heat circulation and causing uneven texture. Each piece should be walnut-sized when shaped - smaller pieces cook too quickly and become hard, larger pieces remain raw in center. Shape into smooth balls to ensure even cooking and seal filled pieces completely to prevent bursting during baking. The goal is uniform pieces that cook evenly while maintaining distinct "picky bits" for pulling apart and sharing.
