Instead of self-raising flour ...

Don't have any self-raising flour but wish you did? Here are some steps you can take to replicated this ingredient.



Option One: For every 8 ounces of plain flour, you can add 3 level teaspoons of baking powder and sift the two together before using.


Option Two: For every 8 ounces of plain flour, you can add 2 level teaspoons of cream of tartar and 1 level teaspoon of bicarbonate of soda.
