Bacon-roasted Hot Dog and Peanut Broth
Tristen: "This is a little peanut soup and some of my favorite food hot dogs. I want something that can be, like, very umami forward. I'm going to make some croutons, and I just have to build the flavor and then blend this soup later."
Tristen (5 minutes to go): "Cooking the soup down, a little seasoning. Wish I had a strainer, but it is what it is. Wait. No blender? No blender.. Well, that changes things. I can't use a blender. I don't know. It's kind of late in the game to try to work it out. I'll have to strain it through two quart containers into the bowl. This is my hot garbage plate of peanut soup."
Presenting to Judges
"I did a bacon roasted hot dog and a yaka mein style broth with peanuts, celery and kraut and a little bit of croissant."
Judge: "Did it turn out how you expected it to?"
Tristen: "No, I was expecting to blend it so it'd be a little richer."
