Cold Sweet Potato Noodles, Korean
Cold Sweet Potato Noodles, Korean

Country: Korea.

Round: Noodle.

Cara: "I'm not gonna try to say any sort of name for this because I do not speak Korean, but it's a sweet potato noodle on the bottom. Got pickled kimchi daikon, Asian pear, and then a quail egg in the middle."

Cara (context): "For my Korean noodle dish, I'm making a chilled sweet potato noodle with a variety of garnishes, a raw quail egg, and gochujang dressing. I just am so nervous to put up a Korean dish for Roy Choi."

Roy: "You almost did a hybrid of jormyeon or naengmyeon or bibim guksu, and I respect that. The thing about those dishes that makes them so beautiful is the thickness of the noodle and then the amount of sauce, because the sauce is there to almost work like a curry for the noodles. Because the noodles are cold, you just needed, like, another big tablespoon and a half of that in there."

Padma: "I love all the textures, the crunch, the radish, all of the noodles. I think for me, it ate a bit bland, and bland is not a word I think of when I think of Korean food. I wanted more punch."

Cara still finished safe in the top three overall.
