Fried Chicken with Tamarind and Saffron Honey

Malyna Si (on dish assignment): "Fried chicken is the last thing that I want to make. There's a very small window of error, but if I can get everything done, I know that I can win this."
Keith Corbin (observing): "That's a good thing. She's deboning it, so that's cool."
Malyna Si: "You know, anything cooked on the bone is going to taste a little better and hold its juiciness a little bit better."
Malyna Si (plating): "Feeling very nervous and very anxious. There's definitely a possibility of me going home." To judges: "I made a fried chicken with a tamarind and saffron honey with whipped buttermilk."
Wiley Dufresne: "Tamarind and saffron honey. Your fried chicken's excellent. It's juicy, but it's thoroughly cooked."
Padma Lakshmi: "I liked the buttermilk foam. I think your breading is great."
Michael Cimarusti: "My issue with this is the saffron is very strong and very distracting."
Verdict: Wiley Dufresne voted Malyna. Michael Cimarusti voted Rochelle. Padma Lakshmi (deciding vote): awarded win to Rochelle Daniel. Malyna Si advanced; Rochelle Daniel was eliminated.
