Kate's walnut shortbread with bay-infused salted caramel, inspired by Roman symbolism of wealth and status. Features decorative pattern on chocolate top.
Paul: 'I do like this pattern on the top. It's quite delicate, but it makes it look quite pretty as well. I think the biscuits beautiful and soft, but it holds its shape. I think you've got the texture spot on, actually. I do like the favors. Get a slight aromatic favor from the caramel.' Prue: 'That aromatic thing is actually the bay. Yeah, I really like it. There's a huge difference between the shortbread and these two. It's quite doughy. The favors are sort of there. The textures aren't, though. I think your issue is the base. It hasn't got the texture of a short yet. Maybe it's got too much pean. It's a little unpleasant.' [NOTE: Some judging comments may be incomplete due to transcript limitations]
