Madeira Cake

In Series 11 of The Great British Baking Show ™, for the Showstopper challenge, the bakers were asked to create head and shoulder models, in cake, of their celebrity hero.

For a modeling challenge like this, Madeira cake is more robust than the softer more fragile sponge cakes that are more often seen on the show.
