Giuseppe filled his almond and orange sponge with ricotta cheese, flavoured with a potent orange blossom water and topped with white chocolate and chopped roasted almonds.

Prue Leith: "My goodness - neat as a pin. Absolutely beautiful. A triumph."

Paul Hollywood: "Very elegant. Cuts beautifully. Classic. Lovely swirl. I think the flavours are beautiful. The orange blossom is beautiful, but it comes through."

Chigs' marbled chocolate and vanilla sponge was filled with a strawberry chantilly cream and topped with fresh strawberries adn pistachio.

Judging

Prue Leith: "I like it that the sponge is a little thicker - it shows what a good rise you achieved. The strawberries are delicious."

Paul Hollywood: "Nice swirl."

Lizzie's giraffe-print coffee sponge was rolled around a tahini caramel filling and topped with edible pansies and white chocolate feathers.

Judging

Paul Hollywood: "Not the best looking mini rolls I've seen. There was obviously a rush. The cream and caramel has run out of the sponge because  it was too warm and so your flavours end up being wrong. The idea is good but it was subject to poor timing."

George's milk chocolate mini rolls were filled with a hazelnut bavarois and topped with edible gold glitter dust.

Prue Leith: "It's more of a pudding than a cake."

Paul Hollywood: "Too hot. Bad timing. Rushed."

Freya's lemon and raspberry mini rolls used aquafaba in place of egg whites and were filled with a vegan lemon meringue buttercream and topped with almond praline.

Prue Leith:"I like the nice tart flavor of the raspberries. The cake is a little bit hefty."

Paul Hollywood: " There's a nice hint of lemon."

Maggie topper her light, flourless chocolate orange mini rolls with heavenly milk-chocolate angels and mandarin segments.

Prue Leith: "Chocolate is a bit rough and ready. Sponge is excellent."

Paul Hollywood: "Nice swirl. Great flavour, but they're rich - I couldn't eat many. The cocoa content is quite high."

Named after Rochica's father, these 'Colin Rolls' were made of spelt flour and carrot cake and filled with cinnamon and vanilla cream. They were topped with chards of peanut brittle. 

Judging

Prue Leith: "Fairly good swirl. Flavours are lovely, but the rolls are a little stodgy."

Paul Hollywood: "Even with spelt flour, you've overmixed the batter and so it has become rubbery."

Amanda added a coffee twist to a squadron of upright cherry-topped mini rolls. Topped with a chocolate eyelash.

Judging

Prue Leith: "They're really not very even, and there's no swirl."

Paul Hollywood: "The cherry isn't strong enough - it gets hidden by the coffee."

Tom filled his black forest mini rolls with a cherry jam before coating them with thick dark chocolate.

Judging

Prue Leith: "There is some swirl and the texture of the cake is lovely."

Paul Hollywood: "There is not nearly enough cherry coming through."

Jairzeno's passionfruit caramel buttercream filled a lime and chili sponge. Topped with caramel swirls.

Judging: 

Paul Hollywood: Not enough swirl, but the bitterness with the sugar is perfect and the passionfruit is absolutely delicious.

Prue Leith: This is so worth the calories. It's wonderful. 

Jürgen's classic black forest mini rolls had a chocolate genoise sponge filled with Kirsch cream and sour cherries. They were topped with chocolate christmas trees.

Judging

Prue Leith: "You've been clever to avoid over-sweetening - there's a lovely kick of sour cherry."

Paul Hollywood: "Nice swirl. Really, very good/" 

Jaggary sweetened Crystelle's coconut and chai mini rolls that were flavored with cloves, ginger, cinnamon and cardamom.

Judging

Prue Leith: "Very neat and very attractive. Deliciuos - perhaps a touch too much jaggary. "

Paul Hollywood: "Not much swirl. Great blend of spices, especially the blend of cardamom and coconut which is marvelous. "
