AJ said "I'm baking a rainbow cake. Four tiers, four layers, butter icing, sprinkles. I'm going bold."

Presenter: "AJ is being ambitious with her tower of sponges and hoping her tears won't end in tears. For maximum fun, she's smothering her cake with icing and throwing all the sprinkles at it."

Gemma: "I'm making Victoria sponge with raspberries in it and rose flavoured cream. It's going to blow your senses. The colour (pink) is everything. Do you know what I think? If something tastes terrible, if it looks good, it's worth it."

Presenter: "The only way is pink for Gemma, who plans to dazzle the judges with a cake filled with homemade raspberry jam and topped with sparkly glitter."

Jessica: "I'm making a three story lemon drizle cake. If you've never made a cake before, lemon drizle is a good place to start."

Presenter: "Jessica hopes her cake will create a buzz in the tent, she's adding lemon zest to her sponges and using cream cheese icing, she's embellishing her cake with a layer of honeycomb to create a tasty crunch."

Jessica: "I don't think of myself as a baker at all, but my daughter very sweetly said, oh, mum. But what about your lemon drizle cakes? Oh, this is a souped up version of a family favourite."

Hoping the judges will go "bananas" for his flavours, Tim added crushed pecan nuts to his sponge, filling it with banana icing, and decorating with a caramel sauce. 

"I'm using three whole bananas" said Tim.
