Noel Fielding: "The judges would like you to make the iconic cake that has become the mascot for The Great British Baking Show ™. You know, the one with the famous missing raspberry. This is the most iconic cake. It has to look amazing on the outside and inside. It's going to taste and look good too."
Alison Hammond: "The judges are looking for two layers of moist chocolate sponge, covered in the fill with a silky smooth chocolate ganache, topped with the fresh raspberries."
Paul Hollywood: "It's probably one of the most famous cakes in the UK. It is actually a chocolate fudge cake, but success comes down to the ganache. The bakers need to cool the ganache down to a point, but not cold because it'll be solid when it comes into contact with a sponge. If it's warm, it's just going to run out. They can use the fridges. The issue, when you use a fridge with ganache, you can matt the chocolate. And we want shiny."
