Season:
Episode:
Challenge:
Boulud Progressive Brunch
Elimination

Kristen Kish: "Let me introduce world renowned chef and restaurateur, Daniel Boulud."

"Chefs, if you didn't grow up here, you might not be familiar with a centuries old tradition called the sugar shack. Sugar shacks were small wooden buildings where on a maple farm, sap from the maple trees was turned into maple syrup. What started as small shacks have turned into huge dining halls where it's not uncommon to find an entire big brunch menu."

"For your elimination challenge, you'll be working in two teams of seven. Each team must create a brunch menu and each team member is responsible for one dish. And in celebration of the sugar shack, every dish must have a maple component."

"Each team will have time to menu plan before heading to Whole Foods Market. Tomorrow, you'll have two hours to cook at Daniel's restaurant, Cafe Boulud. One chef from the winning team will be the winner, and one chef from the losing team will be eliminated."

"There's a twist. Here's where things get a little sticky. Each team will also be shopping for a few ingredients for the other team that must be used in the brunch dishes. (After some discussion, the Brown Team bought lasagna and white truffle oil for their competitors; the Green Team bought pizza, gummy bears, cinnamon candies, and candy corn."
