Flight of Imagination
Quickfire

In honour of the Wright Brothers' first flight at Kitty Hawk, North Carolina, the twelve chefs were challenged to create the first-ever food flight in Top Chef history. Working in teams of three, each group was assigned one red, one white, and one rosé from Josh Cellars' wine portfolio and tasked with building a flight of three dishes — one paired to each wine — unified by a single ingredient or theme. With just 30 minutes on the clock, the teams landed on seafood, Tomme cheese, eggs, and mochi as their through lines. Guest judge Tristan, the most recent Top Chef winner, joined Padma to evaluate the pairings. The blue team's egg flight — bold, surprising, and beautifully progressive — took the win and the $15,000 prize.
